Pink in a rainbow?

"Mom - is there pink in a rainbow?" Reh asked me.
"No", I said, "not really" wondering if I should explain how he probably saw a shade of pink but wondering myself but there's no white there for the red to mix with so....
"But I saw pink in a rainbow this morning."
"Where?" I asked.
"At school when we were playing outside."
"Oh really?" happy that he noted a rainbow and remembered to later tell me about it.
"Yea!"
"Maybe there is a pink then." I said.
" Yea thats a different kind of rainbow" said Reh with a delighted, earnestness. Glad to share that bit of world wisdom with mom.

Sure Reh. You're right.  Might have a been a special one just for you.

Garbage Sonata

About ten mins ago tonight, I just stepped out to put the trash out. After cooking and being marinated in various aromas, I stepped out and it was like a force moved my face upwards. A gentle cool breeze, trees and leaves having a nightly rendezvous. I heard whispering leaves and a practically ghungroo clad wind gossiping among the trees. The clean, smooth, just right temperatured outside flirted with me and then this beautiful moon said Hi. Just had to click her. Wish my camera had telescopic zooming capabilities. Had put the kids to bed after working on them for an hour and still I called them out, just to enjoy this spontaneous moment. To say it was beautiful is putting it simply.

Spring break - part 1

Cool, green, burst of colours and waking up from hibernation. Thats what the past few weeks have been about. Nosh n Reh were home and I just love that. No rushed mornings - except where I had to rush them to the gym - my god that was excruciating) and just enjoying the weather.

The pink cherry blossom tree outside our home...it actually threw pink light on the walls.

Artwork

I love windows. The more the merrier. I dont feel the need to hang up artwork bcos one of my favourite things - trees - are always in the frame of my windows and I just love the things seasons do to them. It's never boring with something constantly changing outside. I could spend a lot of time at windows. Dunno if it has somehitng to do with growing up in an apartment. LOL.
I decided click the tree outside my bedroom window bcos its in the throes of rebirth - budding and waking up. Soon within a month it's going to be lush.

Raindrops fallin on our heads...

It's a gorgeous night here in NY. Hint of spring with all the beautiful, melting, rejuvenating rain. One where you can be thrilled to bits sharing your umbrella with the love of your life, skipping thru puddles. Since the love of my life is filling tax forms, the other two loves of my life and I opened the windows and smelled, felt, heard and saw the rain. If there was no roof, we could have tasted it too but another time. Nosh and Reh got all excited at hearing their voices echo and mumma hushing them up while they marvelled loudly at the beautiful lights and the rain drops outlined in the street light. Anyone passing by (actually there were a smattering of cars whooshing by) would have heard cold-gusts-of-air-induced giggly belly laughs. (Wish I could bottle up those laughs forever.) They were even more excited that I opened the windows AND let them poke their heads out.

Soon those trees are gonna be lush and we wont be able to see the windows on the other side.

Sunrises

On our vacation trip to St.Johns, Maine and other coastal towns around the Canadian border, I woke up everyday at 5 to catch the sunrises. All alone on the freshly washed deck, with just this side of the cold winds flapping my shawl around me, the incredibly quiet hum of the liner cutting thru the ocean and the intermittent call of a seagull when coming close to shore were music to my ears, was a massage for my jaded nerves and a call from the heavens to feel small and insignificant but oh so happy in front of all this splendour spread out before me.

Just want to share the beauty with you.
