Spare Our Souls

I dont get why there's this obsession with Ash-Abhi. First there was her trip going out of the country, then there was the one where she came back, (!???) then her first Karwachaut and then their trip to the Taj Mahal then the Father-In-Law's trip and what not else in between. I watch the news and yea they're in my way. Cant imagine why the broadcasters would want to keep recycling the same crappy bits of them going about doing what millions of others are going about in their lives over and over again. I dont know if anyone saw that bit where Abhishek helped her put her pallu over her shoulder and it was like like a stuck record version where some genius kept looping the shot so he kept doing it. What is the logic behind this? Either they have some persistent but stupid PRpeople or they're full of themselves.

There is so much else going on and the media wastes so much of footage time on junk like this. I can't imagine what it says about where our national consiousness is going. I mean save it only for the Entertainment segment of your broadcast or something. have THAT broadcasted twice a day only. There should be a whole new segment called the Funnies or something for inane things like this. Some version of Ripley's Believe It Or Not.

Then there was that bit about Aamir Khan's brother and whatever happened with him and his family. As broadcasters I think you guys have to have some Basic decency about what you want to put out there and dont want to. This was so personal and it was just put out there for anyone to make judgements and make horrible assumptions on. Anyone who has had experience with a mentally challenged relative or alcoholism or any disease of that sort will know how painful it is for the rest of the family to have a normal family life and how easy it is for the rest of the world to pass judgements and heap more trouble on top of everything else that the family is going through.
This loss of perspective is shameful. The perspective on what should make the news on what actually is.
The Ash-Abhi thing was on the bloody ticker at the bottom of the screen for God's sake. For what?? Disgusting to say the least.
